HongKong and Shanghai Bank Ordinance of1899

With reference to the above Ordinance

under which we have the privilege of issuing Bank notes in

excess of our Paid up Capital against deposit of Coin

and/or Bullion of equal value, same expires on the 31st.

July next, but as the necessity for an excess issue still

exists, I beg to request that the above Ordinance may be

renewed."
